2nd Maryland

The first regiment painted is based on the image found here. Whether it gets used specifically as the 2nd Maryland or as any other regiment is currently unknown, though as blue faced red seems a quite common coat colour I imagine this unit can quite happily substitute for others.

The models are mainly painted using the standard Foundry three paint pallettes, with the flesh using the 'expert' 6 paint pallette. Aside from this, a few Games Workshop Citadel paints have been used here and there, in particular the Devlan Mud and Badab Black washes to pick out details. The flag was copied from the internet and hand painted.

Hopefully I'll get better at taking photos as time goes on. I'll also endeavor to do the next ones with a bit of terrain around them.

Welcome

The aim of this blog is to follow my efforts painting and wargaming the American War of Independence in 28mm. Hopefully keeping this blog will help motivate me to keep at the project, though I imagine the odd out of context model may creep onto these pages at some point or another. In any case, I aim to try to post something each week, with the initial idea being to alternate between American and British regiments or units.

Most of the models will be Perry miniatures, be they ones from their current website or those that were sculpted for Wargames Foundry. The first few units will be Foundry ones as I have a rather large pile of boxes to get through before I start ordering anything else. Gaming wise, I expect to be using Black Powder or British Grenadier, though any gaming will have to wait until I have a few more regiments ready for battle.
